JV Coweta Game Cancelled for Monday 9-21-09

Dallas

High School Team:

Here are the plans for the trip to Dallas to play the HSAA Blue Angels.

We have reservations for the team and coaches at the Homewood Suites in Plano, Texas.

NOAH will be paying for all of the high school team players, coaches, trainers and bus driver.
We are planning to use the Eastland touring bus for the team to travel to the game.
Coach Joe has made arrangements a BBQ restaurant (Blankenship family favorite) to stay open for the team and all to eat together after the game on Friday night.

NOAH will provide the following for each player:

* Travel to and from Dallas (Bus leaving at 9:00 am on Friday Morning)
* Hotel accommodations for Friday night.
* Meals: light meal before the game, big meal after the game, Saturday morning big breakfast at the hotel.

Each player needs to bring enough money to eat twice at quickie drive thru restaurants i.e. McDonalds. (Lunch on Friday and Saturday)
They might want to bring a little spending money for odds and ends but NOAH will be paying for the majority of needs for the players.

Coach Joe wants all high school players to travel to the game.

I need each player to let me know if they will be able to make the trip with the team so that we can reserve enough rooms.

We must know by this Wednesday if you are planning go to the Dallas game.

I know you don't want to sleep on the bus :) so go ahead and send an email to ohboyx3@atlasok.com so we can reserve your room. In this email give us you roommate choices and we will do our best to honor your choice for room assignments. There will be four to each room.

Families that would like to reserve a room to stay at the same location as the team may do so by calling the Homewood Suites directly at (972)758-8800. We have been given a rate of $69.00 for a king or double room. They also have two room suites that may be available for larger families. They also offer free breakfast from 6-9am. This is the same hotel that we stayed at year before last when we played the HSAA Blue Angels and is a great value for $69.00/night.
Please do not call until Thursday or Friday, by then we have a better idea of the number of rooms we will need for the team.

The Homewood suites has two locations in Plano. We are staying at the location on 4705 Old Shepard Place.

The game will be held at 7:30 pm
Josey Ranch Sports Complex
Field # 5
1440 Keller Springs
Carrollton, TX 75006

Guidelines for the NOAH Practice Fields

Here are the rules that we must follow:

* No parking on the grass.
* No pets.
* No parking behind the buildings except to load/unload.
* No parking in the driveway. This is for Drop Off/Pick Up only.
* Park your vehicle as close to the street (129 th) as you can. We want to allow the congregation to park closest to the church.
* Pick up your trash! Make sure that we don't leave any trash anywhere on the property.
* Please stay off the front porch of the church building and away from all church buildings.
* We have no bathroom facilities at the field. Do not try to enter the church to use the facilities. You can use Quiktrip (81st and Garnet) or Walgreens (91st).
* Please stay off of the Baseball field. They have seeded and fertilized the baseball field and are working hard to keep it in great shape. Everyone, please walk around the baseball field and do not climb or play on the baseball backstop.
* No unsupervised children should be anywhere on the property. We are allowed to use the fenced playground as long as our children have ADULT supervision. In the evenings the church may need to ask you to leave the playground so that they can start their church activities. The ladies who run the program will let us know when we need to exit.

Parents please discuss these guidelines with your athletes and other children who may be attending the football practices.

I know that the list seems long and harsh but we must honor our agreement.

It has come to our attention that there have been at times up to ten children playing in the playground without supervision. This must stop if we are to continue using the playground. Your children may not play in the playground if you are not in the playground with them!

If you have any questions, please let me help.

Opening Football Game of the 2009 Season for the JAGS

Tonight is the first varsity football game for the 2009 JAGUARS.

We are very excited for our team and we want to thank all of those who are helping to make our home games a success.

We want to encourage you to invite your friends and family to come enjoy Friday night football with the JAGS.

Our new home stadium will seat 1200 fans just on the home side of the bleachers. So we can leave the chairs at home and unite as one as we cheer for our JAGS.

The address for the game field is 301 West New Orleans (101st) in Broken Arrow. The school is South Intermediate High School and it is just East of the intersection of New Orleans (101st) and Elm (161st). The school is on the South side of New Orleans.

Come on out and cheer for the JAGS as they meet the Ropers of Tulsa Will Rogers High School.

Message from our Home Game Coordinator

Dear NOAH Families,

We want all the families of NOAH to know that we are excited for anytime you want to come out and support our football boys! And for each home games, we are encouraging you to have your kids/families make signs to put up around the perimeter of the field. Or you can make signs to hold - whatever kind of sign you want to make! We are wanting the stadium filled with great team spirit and this would certainly help to encourage that! So, please get creative and start drawing for the game! And, if you don't mind, bring your own tape and put them up on whatever part of the fence you choose! (Just please make sure you check the appropriateness, parents! Not that we're too worried about our kids being inappropriate - but we still need to check! Please make sure the wording is not offensive - you know what we mean! Like no ugly "jabs" against the other team.) Okay, enough of that.
Anyway, we are looking forward to a great first home game this Friday night! So, get your spirit on and come out and support the NOAH Jaguars!!!

GO JAGS!!!

A message from our Home Game Coordinator

Dear NOAH Football Families,

We are in need of long tables and ice chests for the home football games starting this Friday night. If you would be able to bring one (or more), please let me know. And if we can store them, so you wouldn't have to bring them every time, please let me know if you would be willing to leave them there for the season. This would be from Sept. 4 (this Friday) until Oct. 23rd (our last home game). We will be using them for the gate, the JagWear table and for concessions. Please don't think others will take care of this request - we need you to help!
Thanks so much,

Pre-Game Meals for the High School Team

Noah Families:

To our new families - “Welcome.” To our returning families - “it’s that time of year again.” Can’t you just smell the football season in the air?

Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Shelley Roberts - I will be coordinating the sandwich meals for the games. Coach Blankenship and Coach Gastelum like to provide the players with a quick meal before each game (JV and Varsity). It usually consist of sandwiches, fruit, and bottled water. There have been times where families have provided chips, cheese, and other healthy snacks, but we mainly ask that each family do at least sandwiches, fruit, and bottled water.

Many of you signed up at the parent meeting, but some of you were not available and I still need to get your names on the schedule. If you did not sign up, I’ve taken the liberty to insert your family’s name on the schedule. If for some reason, the date does not work for you, please let me know AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE so I can get it rearranged. Please do not wait until the game date to let me know that the schedule will not work for you.

I will send out an email notice every week. It will have the next two games, as well as who is bringing what. I’ll try to make it as easy as possible for you, all you need to do is put your food item in a cooler (put your name on cooler) and bring to the drop off place (the place where Coach Joe designates that the team will be leaving from). We will then transport the ice chests to the game site and return your cooler to your son after the game.

We are requesting that each family sign up for two sandwich slots, two fruit slots, and two water slots.

Sandwiches (20 per slot)
Please bring sandwiches fully made in labeled sandwich bags. Some players do not like condiments, so you may consider leaving a few plain. Some players do not eat pork, so keep that in mind, as well as some players have peanut allergies. So for those reasons, it is imperative that the bags be labeled.

Fruit (20 Pcs. per slot)
Some fruit that the players prefer are: bananas, grapes, apples, oranges. I realize it is difficult to buy a bag of apples/oranges that has 20 in the bag, so just cut them in half. A cluster of grapes in a sandwich bag works great.

Water (1/case per slot) Please bring the water iced down.

I am in the process of finalizing the schedule and will be sending it down via email within the next day or two. Again, take a look at where your name is on the schedule and let me know if it won’t work for you.

I will be sending all notices out through my email address. So if you have a blocker on receiving emails, please add me to your contact list. I also ask that you simply reply to my email acknowledging that you did receive the notice and that everything is okay. It is very difficult for me to have to call you to verify, so please make every effort to simply hit the ‘reply’ button to let me know.

DO NOT reply to any of the coaching staff or administrative staff (ie Danae Fayard, Cheryl Castles, or Rochelle Collingsworth).

Please add my email address to your contacts list, and if you have any concerns or questions, just let me know.

THANK YOU for all your help and support.

High School Scrimmage and Team/Individual Pictures

The scrimmage this Friday will be held at Victory Christian School on Lewis between 71st and 81st.

The scrimmage will include NOAH, Victory and Collinsville.

The scrimmage time for jv is 6:oo with varsity to start around 7:30. The bus will leave the practice field by 3:30 pm so you need to arrive at the practice field by 3:15 pm.

Wear your new blue sleeveless shirts and black NOAH shorts.

Don't forget your white jersey and game pants.

We will take team and individual pictures at the Victory Campus before the scrimmage.

The black game jerseys will be distributed after we arrive at the Victory field so
that the black jerseys can be worn for the pictures.

I will email the picture order form by direct email by Thursday morning. If you have not received an email with the forms attached you may email me and I will forward the order form to you.

We will be on a very tight schedule to have the pictures done before the scrimmage so you will need to have your parents complete the picture order form in advance and have EXACT cash or a check made out to J Palmer Images. If you do not have printing capabilities then you will need to write down your order and enclose your payment in an envelope. Please try to follow these instructions so Mr. Palmer will be able to complete everyones pictures.

Game Uniform Requirements

High School Football Players,

Coach Joe wanted me to remind you of his requirements for the game uniforms.

The jerseys are very expensive and we need them to last as long as possible.

So just a few simple guidelines to help us keep the uniforms in good condition.

Please don't dry your game jerseys, girdle, or black game pants in the clothesdryer.

Hang dry only.

Coach is allowing you to take them home but they are only to be worn on game day.

You are responsible for the jerseys so they may not be worn by anyone else but you.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Danae

A Mesage from our Home Game Coordinator

Dear Football Families,

We are still in great need of a couple, preferably, to take over the job of Concessions Managers. We will be selling pre-packaged items again this year, as we did last year, so the food preparation will be little-to-none. The job would basically be setting up tables and organizing them, overseeing the selling of items and keeping tables replenished. We are not sure yet whether we will be able to store the concession items at the field yet or not, so there would be the possibility of moving them from your home to the game each week, but since there is no prep (warming, cooking, etc...) it would just be boxes of items. If you feel that you and your spouse are the couple for this job, please let us know ASAP! We want to be able to offer concessions this year, but it will take volunteers to make it happen. Also, we may need long tables again like we did last year - and hopefully we will be able to store them at the field as well. We will need these for concessions and the Jag Wear tables. So, if you have some tables that you could part with for the season, we would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you,

Friday's practice cancelled for Junior High

Coach Sab has cancelled practice for the Junior High team.

He would like to encourage the families of the Junior High players to bring your family to watch the high school team as they have their first scrimmage of the season.
The scrimmage will be held in the NSU Doc Wadley football stadium. It's always exciting to watch them play in a university stadium.

The high school bus will leave the practice field at 3:00. You may join the caravan or arrive later for the JV at 5:00 and the Varsity at 6:00.

In the title above I have linked the directions to NSU in Tahlequah. Click on the title and the map will open.

Come and have a great evening supporting the JAGS!

Friday's Scrimmage in Tahlequah

Coach Joe wants the high school team at the practice field by 2:45 so you can load your equipment in the trailer and have the bus rolling out by 3:00.

Coach wants you to wear the new sleeveless shirt that he gave you on Thursday and your black shorts that he gave you at TU camp. If you didn't attend TU camp then just wear black shorts.

Wear the above to the field and you can wear your girdle under your shorts but don't forget your helmet, shoulder pads, black game pants with pads, belt and white game jersey.

The team will have sandwiches and fruit for the ride on the bus.

I have linked a map to NSU Tahlequah above. Just click on the title above and the map window will open up. If you would like to follow the bus you are welcome to or you may arrive later at the NSU Football Stadium in Tahlequah. The JV scrimmage will start at 5:00 and the Varsity at 6:00.

Mrs. Castles is planning to be at the practice field before we depart if you need to turn in a fee payment.

Make sure your sons start drinking water early so they don't dehydrate.

A MESSAGE FROM COACH BLANKENSHIP

NOAH Football Parents, NOAH Board,

I am thankful for the work of NOAH and the opportunity to play a part in it. I have felt led by the Lord to coach football at NOAH as a ministry to young men. Springs of Grace Church and its leadership has been supportive of my ministering through coaching as a part of how I should spend my time.

I am thankful for all of the people on the board and in football in particularly who give their time and energy. I understand NOAH is a volunteer organization and there often appears to be more to do than people to do it.

As the football season is about to begin in earnest, I want to share some needs that unless we are able to fill them, have the potential of undermining our success as a program or will push my time commitment beyond what my family and other ministry responsibilities can endure.

1) We need some men to take on the responsibility for the equipment - getting it in and out of the shed before and after practice. This involves the maintaining of equipment, checking to make sure no equipment gets left out, that what gets taken out at the beginning of practice ends up back in the shed. (We lost over $200 of footballs in the spring). There are also game responsibilities. The person or persons need to be (collectively) at every practice and games.

2) We need some men to take on the responsibility of field maintenance. We had hoped to move to a different field this year but it has not worked out. Our field is in bad condition. I have watered it four of the past five days for 14 plus hours each day. The field not only has bad grass and no grass in spots but has become extremely hard. I am hoping that watering it will help create a softer base on which we can practice. The field will be fertilized tomorrow in hopes of greening up and filling out what grass we have. Maintaining the fields can help in the prevention of injuries. Having good grass lowers the temperature of the playing surface and minimizing the dust makes breathing easier as your sons compete.

3) Danae (with helpers) has done a great job of assisting with the scheduling, contacting, and administration.

Coaching football requires much more than the time spent on the practice field. As a football coach, twice as much time is spent in preparation outside of the practice field that is spent on the field. The time commitment is a big one and I have enjoyed making it. I want to make sure that I maintain the support of my family and church by doing all I can to not let the time commitment swell beyond what the Lord has for me. Your help will be very appreciated.

Sincerely,

Joe Blankenship

NOAH JAG GAME CART

A message from our Head Trainer Kari Gastelum

GOLF CART DONATED!!!!

The trainers have been blessed with a golf cart to use for this football season. We are excited to be able to use it to transport ice, water jugs and equipment during practices and our home games.

The golf cart will help us help your players more efficiently.
During the heat of the summer (usually all of Aug. and most of Sept.) the players drink anywhere from 45 to 50 plus gallons of water during EACH practice to prevent dehydration. The golf cart will make filling and transporting the heavy jugs faster and easier.

With donations we take what we can get and this happens to be an all electric golf cart which needs batteries. There are six, 6V batteries and they cost 100 dollars each. So far we have raised enough money for two batteries.

I would like to ask around and see if we could raise some more money before our first practice, so we will be ready to go.
If everyone would be willing to give a little it would make a huge difference.

Remember these girls are volunteering their time EVERYDAY during the season, whether it is blistering hot or freezing cold, to be part of the team, fill a big need and be a blessing to your family.
Any donation would be appreciated.

This doesn't have to all come out of your pocket either, feel free to ask your neighbors, customers or friends if they could give a little.
That's how we have raised the first two hundred. My dad has small, family-friendly resort at Lake Tenkiller and he has a donation jar. He just asks his customers if they would like to help out his grandsons football team.
Some of you with business could do the same, you might be surprised at the support you will get.
Those of you that mow yards, ask for a donation for your football team.

Please make checks payable to NOAH Football:

2009 Tulsa University Todd Graham Team Camp for High School Team June 1, 2 & 3

TU team camp is just a week away. Here are a few things that may answer or clarify any questions that you may have.

Below this post is a message from Coach Joe.

We will collect the TU registration forms ( titled 2009 Todd Graham Football Camp Participant acceptance notification) and TU fee payments on this Tuesday. We will be available before and after practice. Each NOAH athlete will pay $75 toward the $185 camp fee and NOAH football will pay the balance. A sports physical is required for each participant. If you played NOAH tackle football last year or if you have given me a physical for this year. I will prepare a copy of your physical that will be handed in with your TU registration form. The other handouts that were included are for you to keep and use to prepare for the camp.
Item number one on the registration form: If your son has health insurance please make a copy of the insurance card on the back of the registration form.
I wouldn't attach a claim form to the registration form. The insurance card will be sufficient.
A few parents have asked about the social security number request near the bottom of the form. I am not including my sons ss number but if you feel comfortable to do so you may. The form states that a $90 check will be required for a deposit on each room key. We have not given a deposit for each participant in the past. Coach is not requiring a check for the key deposit. Although, if your son loses his room key he will be responsible to pay the $90 fee that TU will require to replace the lock/key on his room. One of our coaches will supervise and help the guys keep up with their keys. We haven't lost one yet.

The second and third handouts give you and your sons a typical schedule and other helpful information while they are at camp.
Please have your sons read all of the camp forms, handouts and all of the emails/messages regarding TU camp. Please remind them that they are representing Christ, NOAH Jaguars and their families.

Here are some tips for first timers:
They are fed very well at meal times. They can have as much as they want while they are in the cafeteria. They are not allowed to take any food out of the cafeteria. So around nine in the evening most are ready for pizza. A pizza can be ordered for $10 which can be shared between roommates if they don't want the entire pizza.

Cleats can't be worn in any of the buildings. This is strictly enforced. It would be wise to bring a pair of sandals/sliders and a string backpack or bag that they can carry their cleats or sliders in to and from sessions.

Do not bring clothing or items that display other team names or logos. You may wear NOAH logos and colors or TU logos and colors. They could use several changes of clothing everyday if they shower between sessions (which I am sure their roommates will greatly appreciate). They will need every t-shirt they bring and it would be unfortunate if the only clean shirt they have left is an Arkansas, OU, OSU, t-shirt that they won't be able to wear while at camp.

Coach will have a designated location for the team to meet on the first morning of camp. He will also send out a message that will give the approximate time and location to pick up your son at the end of camp on Wednesday.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

GO JAGS!

TU team camp message from Coach Joe

Parents and players,

Let me give you a few words about the upcoming TU Team Camp and our preparation for it.

1) We will have practice next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4:00 -6:00 pm. It is important for players to make each practice if at all possible.

2) Every player must turn in parental consent, registration form and you must have a physical prior to camp. (If you played last year your physical is still good until August.) We are hopeful that Dr. Krautter may be able to offer physicals late next week but he has been out of town and we are not sure.

4) WHAT ABOUT STAYING IN THE DORM?
Each player can request his roommate but as coach, I will give final approval to all roommates for our players. Our team will all room together in the same general area of the dorm. We will have coaches' rooms placed at either end of the block of rooms for our team. The university dorm entrances are monitored by student/employees all night. Dorms are "locked down" at 11:00 and only one entrance is utilized (the one that is manned). The football program also provides supervision in the dorms via coaches and Graduate Assistants patrolling halls and space inside and out. Camp time is VERY structured with very little free time. There will be 2 practices the first day, 3 the second day and 2 the last day. After 2 practices, there is not much of a problem with the campers, especially, with the team's respective coaches riding herd. Players will be pushed hard and good and tired by night time. One of the additional values I place on this camp is the opportunity it gives us as coaches to get to know our players better and encourage them in becoming a TEAM. Our team will do everything together, eat, practice, meet, etc. I have been asked about interaction with players from other schools. It is certainly possible for our guys to meet athletes from other schools in the lobby of the dorm or cafeteria but our experience the past two years and in speaking with other coaches that have taken teams to this camp for the past 10 years, that doesn't happen much. Attending this camp has been a valuable part of our team's preparation as a team the past two years and I expect it to play that key role again this year. It is possible for a player to attend camp and not spend the night in the dorms. There is not a price break for doing so. If a player needs to leave for the evening it must be approved by the coach (me) and the camp director (Joe Walker) and they must be "checked out" by a parent.
There will be no college students or dorm residents in the dorms while we are there besides those who are participating in the camp. I know you know this but I should make the point that if your sons "look for trouble", they can certainly find it but as a coach and a parent I can assure you that the university will be diligent with security issues and takes it very serious having minors on campus. Further, I can assure you that our NOAH coaching staff takes seriously the responsibility of shepherding your sons while they are in our charge and will do our best to make the camp not only a positive experience football wise but positive in encouraging their hearts to go hard after the Lord Jesus Christ.

5) I understand that some players have conflicts that will prevent you from coming to camp. Some things are more important. I am fine with that. HOWEVER, this camp will benefit you and our team greatly. It is something as coaches we have put a lot of emphasis on. Your coaches have taken vacation days in order to be at camp. We have designated a significant amount of our budget towards attending this camp. We want you to attend. Please confirm that you are attending by Tuesday because we have to turn in a camp roster.

6) If you have any other concerns please let me know.

Coach Joe

High School Team Practice

Practice for the high school team this Thursday and Friday.
Coach wants all athletes ready to start warm up at 3:45.

Cheryl and I will be at practice on Thursday if you need to turn in fees or forms.

We are preparing to distribute the team camp registration forms. We will hand the forms out after practice on Thursday or Friday. If this is your first year to play with NOAH football you must have a physical turned in to me ( if you have not already done so). TU requires a copy of your sports physical with your team camp registration form. I need to have the physicals asap so that I may prepare your registraton forms. If you played with NOAH football last season or have already turned in your physical for the 2009 season. Then you will only need to complete and return in the TU team camp registration form.
Thanks,

Thursday - 4:00-5:30 at Springs of Grace Bible Church - SHORTS AND T-SHIRTS - NO PADS
Skills will work pass routes and coverage; Hogs will work technique; Team will go over plays for timing.
5:30-6:30 - PHYSICALS ( For Junior High and High School Teams) provided by Dr. Krautter. I have physical forms that Dr. Krautter would like for the players or parents to fill in beforehand. We could use some volunteers to take blood pressures and pulse if you know how. This will speed the process.
This is a real blessing to provide these at no cost to our team. PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT! Everyone must have a new physical before the season begins in the fall - so get it done!

Coach Blankenship

NOTE from Danae: I have sent the blank physical form attached to several of the emails since the start of practice. I need parents to complete the medical history page and bring the two page form with each athlete to practice on Thursday. If you don't still have an email with the form you may also find the form on the forms page of the NOAH website under the tackle football forms. If you can't print the form then you need to email me so that I can bring a form for you and you will need complete the medical history page before your son receives his physical.
If you can help with vital signs for the physicals please let me know.

I will also have the fundraising packets to hand out for those who have not received their packets.

Fundraising Meeting on Monday

Dear NOAH Families,

Below you will find a letter about one important fundraising effort for NOAH Football. We talk to our athletes about pursuing excellence in all that they do. Our goal is more than just wins (though 10 wins in 2008 was wonderful). Our goal is more than national championships (NOAH football currently owns two of those). The goal we consistently put in front of your sons is the pursuit of excellence - the kind of excellence that reminds them and others of the unsurpassable excellence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

That pursuit of excellence is the only kind of program I'm interested in being a part of. As parents and supporters of the NOAH Football program you can help tremendously in that pursuit by helping us have the resources to provide the safest and best equipment, the right kind of instruction, the equipment necessary for preparing your sons to be the best team possible. Please take seriously and pursue with excellence the fundraising opportunity below and other ways you can help our program.

Remember that NOAH is a 501 (c) non-profit corporation and any contributions you make to the football organization are tax deductible. If you have an interest in particular needs for our program and/or what the money raised will be used for you can contact me (Coach Joe), Fred Sabatini (President of NOAH), Danae Fayard (Team Coordinator), or Cheryl Castles (Football Treasurer).

Sincerely,

Coach Joe Blankenship
Head Football Coach
NOAH JAGUARS

Dear NOAH Football Families,

We have an exciting and easy fundraiser planned! This fundraiser will be used to provide funds for the tackle football program. Fundraising efforts are absolutely vital to our program to keep from being forced to raise the player registration fees to cover minimum costs. We have chosen, as one of our fundraising campaigns, to sell the extraordinary Enjoy the City discount coupon book. This coupon book is beautifully laid out, very well made and most importantly provides truly extraordinary value for items we really use! It’s definitely what’s inside that makes this coupon book so great.

Homeland- Five dollars off of $50 dollar purchase (12 coupons)
Food Pyramid-Five dollars off of $50 dollar purchase (12 coupons)
Many many great restaurant coupons! Dominos, Papa Murphy pizza to name a few! Even Te Kei's Chinese/Asian Kitchen!
The Tulsa Ballet
ORU athletic events
TU athletic events
Philbrook Museum
Dry cleaning coupons
Rental car coupons
Wow---even Honey Baked Ham
The ever necessary haircut from Sports Clips Haircuts

The booklets will sell for $25 dollars each and our program will profit from each book that is sold. The Homeland coupons alone make these booklets worth double what we will sell them for and in this economy, who wouldn’t want to double their purchasing power on everyday necessary items? We will have a mandatory meeting on Monday night after football practice ends to discuss and distribute this opportunity to keep registration fees low.
Monday's practice will be held at the practice field at 129th between 81st and 91st. Practice time is 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The meeting will begin as soon as practice has ended. We will distribute a discount book to each family that will allow everyone to actually see the discounts they will be purchasing.Prizes will be awarded to the top sellers for the high school team and the junior high team. Details of the prizes will be announced at Monday's meeting.

See you on Monday!

So far - so ...mixed

After off season conditioning, mini-camp and two spring practices the NOAH JAGS football program's outlook is very promising. There are a lot of quality young men with athletic ability competing as Jaguars. Our effort and intensity were good for the first two practices. Our coaching staff believes we are ahead of where we were at this time last year in a lot of areas. We also believe there is MUCH room still to improve.

On another note - I want to express my thanks to our coaching staff (Steve Gastelum, Ben Harris, Gary Woodson, and Tyler Brown -as well as some former players who have helped) for all of their effort and sacrifice. I want to say thank you to Danae Fayard and the team of helpers she has recruited for various tasks.

HOWEVER - WE ARE DESPERATELY IN NEED OF AN EQUIPMENT MANAGER - who could help fit, repair and manage the equipment for the players. After mini camp and two practices - I have lost over 30 minutes that I could have been coaching and another hour plus after practice taking care of and addressing equipment issues. Having quality help in this area last year was an important part of our program's success in 2008 and will be key to the success of 2009. It is also a pivotal component in keeping our coaches and their families positive about doing what they are best at.

Attached is a job description for our equipment manager. If you can help, please let me know by email of your interest.

Sincerely,

Coach Joe Blankenship

Guidelines for NOAH Practice Fields

Here are the rules that we must follow:
  • No parking on the grass.
  • No pets.
  • No parking behind the buildings except to load/unload.
  • No parking in the driveway. This is for Drop Off/Pick Up only.
  • Park your vehicle as close to the street (129 th) as you can. We want to allow the congregation to park closest to the church.
  • Pick up your trash! Make sure that we don't leave any trash anywhere on the property.
  • Please stay off the front porch of the church building and away from all church buildings.
  • We have no bathroom facilities at the field. Do not try to enter the church to use the facilities. You can use Quiktrip (81st and Garnet) or Walgreens (91st).
  • Please stay off of the Baseball field. They have seeded and fertilized the baseball field and are working hard to keep it in great shape. Everyone, please walk around the baseball field and do not climb or play on the baseball backstop.
  • No unsupervised children should be anywhere on the property.

If you have any questions, please let me help.
