2011 NOAH Graduation
2011 NOAH Graduation Ceremony:
For those of you that might have missed the first announcement there will be an organizational meeting tonight for any NOAH athlete who would like to participate in the 2011 NOAH graduation ceremony. In 2009 my oldest son graduated and participated in the NOAH graduation and it was a wonderful experience. Some of our NOAH athletes may be participating in other ceremonies like CEA or Cornerstone. If you would also like to participate in a ceremony with your fellow teammates and Jaguars, we want to welcome you to participate in both. If you can't attend the meeting tonight please email me and I will forward the information to you.
The meeting will be held tonight at Springs of Grace at 6:30pm, 7123 East 7th Street Tulsa. Please be sure to bring your calendars so that we can choose a date for graduation.

A message from Coach Joe
NOAH Football,
I have been watching with extra interest the 3A state playoffs the past few weeks. The semi-finals will be played this upcoming weekend and the four semi-finalist teams are: OKC Heritage Hall (a team we lost to in week 5 in what I felt was our worst performance of the year); Bethany (a team we lost to in week 6 in a game most of us felt we had a tremendous opportunity to win); Kingfisher (the only team we haven't played but a team that lost to Bethany and Newcastle (a team we beat in week 7); and Metro Christian Academy (a team we defeated in week 2).
Our team finished 6-4 with losses to Desoto, TX who won last night to make the semifinals of the largest division in Texas High School football. Tulsa Union JV whose varsity team will play this weekend for the 6A state championships. That means that all four teams we lost to are still in the playoffs and one team we defeated is. Newcastle also made the 2nd round of the 3A playoffs.
I'm thankful to have been a part of a very good season that was real close to being great. We aren't far away from where we want to be but it will take a dedicated effort in the off season to get there. Thankful to be a NOAH Jaguar.

Important Notice!
I want to thank everyone that responded to volunteering for the John 3:16 service project.
Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled. The Mission was uanble to secure a store location due to the stores' prior commitments to other organizations.
After speaking with the Volunteer Coordinator, she did express her gratitude and regret (since the center's foodbank is at an all time low).
It is still not too late to donate for their thanksgiving project. Take a moment to check out their website. They are taking donations for turkeys, macaroni & cheeze, canned vegetables, canned yams, pumpkin pie filling. There are also organizations that are matching the turkey donations. www.john316mission.org I know they would appreciate your support.
Again, thank you!

Help needed for Coach Malcolm's Family
Sorry I should have explained that this is Andrea, Coach Malcolm Andrews widow and family.
Dear NOAH Family,
Andrea and family are moving into a new rental home not far from Springs of Grace Bible Church. They are trying to make a new start and have some move in needs if any one has some available furniture to give. These are items she is willing to buy but we thought we should check with people first.
Specific needs are: refrigerator, full size or larger bed and mattress; 1 set of bunk beds, chairs, dressers, kitchen items (dishes, pots, pans, etc.)
You can bring items to the church or call Andrea (918 951 4805) about delivering bigger items. If you have questions you can call Rosa at (918 231 5106) or email her at rosablankenship@gmail.com
Thanks,
Coach Joe

High School Banquet
Our 2010 Football Awards Banquet will be November 22 @ 6:30. The banquet will be held in the Rainbow Room at the Memorial Drive Church of Christ at 747 South Memorial Dr. Tulsa. We will have Abuelos catering for us. The cost will be $11 per person for the Abuelos meal and $2 per person for the hot dog meal (hot dog, chips, and drink).
In the previous years we have had unaccounted guest come to the banquet and eat dinner without paying for a ticket. In an effort to prevent this from happening again this year we are asking ALL families to RSVP no later then November 19th with the number of family and friends attending and if they will be having the Abuelos dinner or hot dog dinner.
When you arrive at the banquet you will be given a wristband which will allow the Abuelos staff to serve you. You may pay for your wristbands in advance by sending payment to Danae Fayard 14550 Tiffany Ln Skiatook, Ok. or you may pay when you arrive at the banquet. Please make all checks to NOAH. Please no large bills if you are paying with cash. You may reply to this email to RSVP for the number of Abuelos meals and/or hotdog meals that your family will need. Meals for high school football players, coaches and coaches wives will be paid for by NOAH. So please only RSVP for the number of meals that you will be paying for.
We still need a few mothers that might be available to help with the banquet so please let us know if you would like to help.
Thanks,
Dawn Calloway

Important !
Over the past few weeks seven or eight homeschool football teams have backed out of their commitments to play in the National Homeschool Football Championship Series (NHFCS). These teams have changed their minds for a variety of reasons. Some teams that wanted to come felt like they would not be invited because they had dropped out of the top four or five ranked homeschool teams and made other plans. Some of the top five teams were not originally planning on coming and tried to make plans late but ran into different issues (financial for some, scheduling for others) that prevented them from coming. Some teams have dropped out because they don't think they are ready for the level of competition the NOAH Jaguars and the NHFCS represent.
As a result, the National Homeschool Football Championship Series tournament committee has been forced to cancel the 2010 tournament. The tournament committee is redirecting our efforts towards further planning with broader input in building this tournament experience. To that end we have reset a launch date of November, 2011 to hold this National Championship Tournament. A Steering Committee is convening this winter to work out some very essential details that participating teams have asked to develop. The tournament committee is soliciting other homeschool varsity head football coaches to be a part of the steering committee via off-season conference calls and email discussion groups to ensure the 2011 Championship Series becomes an extraordinary event.
After multiple teams that we had thought and hoped were coming to participate in this year's tournament had backed out we were down to NOAH and Dallas HSAA as the only remaining teams committed to the NHFCS. When Dallas was informed that they would be coming up to play NOAH again they met with their coaches and players and decided not to come back for another game against NOAH. That is disappointing but understandable considering we played them just a couple of weeks ago and the outcome was pretty decisive in favor of NOAH.
As the head coach of NOAH and a participant in the tournament committee, I recognize that our attempts at securing teams for the championship series were flawed. We asked teams to commit to possible post season games and trips without any assurances that they would be invited. Teams from Ohio, Maryland, Carolina, California, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky and Oklahoma have expressed a real interest in being a part of the NHFCS in the future.
The committee believes they have come up with a solution for going forward that is exciting. Getting the input from other homeschool varsity coaches months ahead of time should provide a great basis for a stable and great championship series going forward. I hate it for this year's team and particularly our seniors. I wanted them to have the opportunity to win another championship on the field and not just in the polls. I wish I had been smarter on the front end and thought about the things we now have learned through this process but I wasn't. I love this team and don't like the idea of having our season cut short.
The National Homeschool Football Championship Series Committee is attempting to do something that has never been done before. There is no true football national championship format. Panama City, Florida and Tennessee offer a weekend family vacation and football package where teams go and play each other in games that last a quarter of a game each and have no game planning or practice preparation and play 1/4 games several times over the course of three or four days concluding with a half game quasi-championship. In our opinion that is not true football and certainly not championship football. The teams that have won that tournament over the past few years are teams that we have soundly defeated - which makes that tournaments assertion of having a national champion pretty bogus. The NHFCS wants to see the best teams have an opportunity to compete in a real championship format like state championship teams do all across the country. What the NHFCS is attempting has a lot of challenges but we are hopeful as we seek the Lord's help through prayer, the support of the ever widening homeschool community and the NOAH family that the NHFCS might be a God-honoring special event in the years to come for homeschool football teams across our nation.
The canceling of this year's chamionship series games means a couple of things for our NOAH team. 1) It means that we will not have the potential income from the last three games we had hoped for (two semi-final games and a championship game) - so if you can help with the NOAH Football costs in any way it will be a blessing. NOAH is a 501c organization and gifts are tax-deductible. AND 2) It means that Thursday night's game against Panama is the last game for this year's NOAH Jaguar football team. We would hope that as many fans as possible would make the trip down to Panama for the Thursday night game to cheer on the Jaguars and I hope that this will be the finest game played by these players all year. May the Lord help us to finish well!

YUMMY--YUMMY-- PIES!!!
Ok, the total sold so far for the pies is less than 100. That is no where near the goal of 500 pies. Come on fellow football families, let's do some selling and get those pies sold. I truly believe that if we are all doing our part in selling these pies that we can reach that goal and even go beyond it. Our past efforts in fundraising have not met our goals. We have over 100 families represented in NOAH football. With the previous fundraisers only 20% of of the families have participated. In order to provide the nominal cost that is required to run our football program, we must rely on fundraising.
Please keep in mind that if we want our football player fee's to remain at the same low price as previous years we must all participate in the fundraisers and do our fare share. We are a team of families, and it takes a team pulling and working together to make things happen. Whether it is playing together as a team on a field and winning a game, or pulling together as families to raise the needed funds for the team to continue on as it has in the past, we have to ALL do our part. It takes everyone to make it work. We can do this if everyone pulls together and works hard. We try very hard to keep the fundraising at a minimum. However, all the equipment that the boy's receive for their football season is very expensive, just to mention a few: top of the line football helmets, pads, nice game jersey's (home and away), pants, belts, thigh pads, travel to and from out of town games, practice jersey..... and not to mention when someone looses his pads, belt, practice jersey, or even one of our game jersey's. It all adds up and it is our responsibility to do what we can to keep the cost as low as possible for everyone. And, we can do it all through just a couple of fundraisers a year if and only if, everyone participates.
Places you might ask:
Church - they may be putting together a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for the church family.
Hair Dresser - He/She might even be willing to keep it at their shop and try to sell some for you.
Neighbors - Whether they are staying home or going out for the holiday, a pie in the freezer is always good.
Family/Friends - They will buy one just to help you in your goal of selling the most pies.
Office bldg. - If you have someone that works in an office, ask them to take your order form and try selling some for you, or ask if you can come to their office and take order's during everyone's lunch break.
Those are just a few and I know there are lots more that I haven't thought of. If you have lost your order form, or you just need another one, you can click above on the title to print the order form.
Again, if you have any questions please email me at sheilarossi62@yahoo.com or call me on my cell at 645-2053. And, Again THANK YOU in advance for making this fundraiser a huge success in raising money for the football team.
KEEP SENDING THOSE EMAIL'S TELLING ME HOW MANY PIES YOU HAVE SOLD. I AM WATCHING FOR THEM SEVERAL TIMES A DAY.

Please keep in mind that if we want our football player fee's to remain at the same low price as previous years we must all participate in the fundraisers and do our fare share. We are a team of families, and it takes a team pulling and working together to make things happen. NOAH & John 3:16 Food Drive
Community Service Project
Each year the John 3:16 Family & Youth Center feeds thousands of families in the Tulsa area, but this year their food bank is at an all time low. It will be an unfortunate Thanksgiving for many families this year if the food bank is not replenished in time.
We need your help!
NOAH is assisting John 3:16 in this project, and we are in need of volunteers. Please join us!
Date: Saturday, November 20
Time: 8 am – 2 pm
Location: To Be Announced
Address: To Be Announced
Volunteers will hand out flyers that detail the grocery items needed for the Thanksgiving project. The customer will purchase the item(s) and then return them to our table.
That’s it – it’s that simple.
What a wonderful opportunity for our organization to give back. www.john316mission.org
If this is something your family would like to be a part of, please e-mail Shelley Roberts @
shelley-roberts@sbcglobal.net
If you have a preference of time you are able to volunteer, let her know. She will put together a schedule that will rotate our volunteers. If we have plenty of volunteers, we will possibly only need 10 people per two hours. Who knows, maybe we’ll have so many volunteers, they will give us two stores to serve!

Tonight's Red River Shootout
Players need to meet the bus at 4:45 at the practice field.
The Blue Angels have gathered a caravan of fans to cheer on their Angels.
We need to have a crowd like we had for the Stillwell and DeSoto games. So send a reminder of the game to all of your friends, family and homeschooling community.
We can show the Angels what great fans the Jaguars have.
We will also start taking donations for our Coaches gifts that will be presented at the banquet. You can make checks payable to NOAH football and you may give your gift to myself or Dawn Calloway.
Tonight we will honor our graduating seniors.
Parents will need to meet at 6:45 in front the home stands.
The ceremony will start at 7:00.

Memorial and Funeral details
Pastor Joe Blankenship:
"Malcolm Andrews was a graduate of Tulsa Memorial High School and played football one year at NEO A&M (I think 1990). He was a volunteer youth coach for several years for the Tulsa Bulldogs and other teams and began coaching with NOAH this past year. I have known him for a couple of years and watched his life change as he began to follow the Lord Jesus. I was very excited to have him as a coach and role model for our young men. He became a close friend of mine and he will be deeply missed."
Coach Joe Blankenship
Funeral will be Tuesday, October 19th at Dyer Memorial Chapel 1610 E Apache St
Tulsa, OK 74106-4022
There is an account set up at Bank Of Oklahoma for tax deductible gifts through One Hope Ministries Malcolm Andrews Memorial Fund to help cover funeral costs and living expenses for the Andrews family (wife and 5 children ages 17, 11, 8, 6, 3) during this transition time.

NOAH Football Remembers a departed leader this week.
NOAH football has had a very tough week.
We are enduring under the weight of a sudden loss of a coach, father, and friend.
Asst. Coach for defensive line, Malcolm Andrews died Monday from an infection that spread quickly throughout his body; particularly his lungs.
He mentioned at last Thursday night’s game that he thought his back had a pulled muscle.
On Friday he sought relief at a minor emergency clinic and was prescribed a muscle relaxant.
On Sunday he was taken to the OSU medical center, in Tulsa, where the infection was identified.
He faced a struggle for several hours and was revived 4 times.
On Monday afternoon he was pronounced dead.
Last August we suffered the death of our equipment specialist, Mark Roberts, in a traffic accident.
Both men were dedicated leaders and fathers of NOAH football players.
Malcolm & Darius (foreground)
A Memorial fund is set up at Bank Of Oklahoma for Malcolm Andrews. It is tax deductible.
The family needs assistance to cover very basic funeral expenses and they are resolved to see God bring them through this overwhelming and painful time. NOAH’s leadership is asking our friends and supporters to ask the Lord what he’d have them do, to assist this young family’s needs. Malcolm leaves behind a wife and five children. The Andrews family attends Springs Of Grace Church. They homeschool their children and Malcolm has coached football for most of the past ten years. The eldest son, Darius, has played on NOAH teams for the past five years.
Funeral arrangements are planned for next Tuesday.
NOAH will fulfill their commitment to Newcastle at this Friday’s game.
The team will be wearing commemorative emblems on their helmets as they suit up for the game. The Newcastle leadership will have a time of reflection for Coach Andrews prior to the game. NOAH will provide a webcast of the game at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/noah-football-2010 .

Urgent Prayer Request
Dear football team and familes
Please be in prayer for Coach Malcolm Andrews and his family. Coach Malcolm has been admitted to Oklahoma State Medical Hospital (9th and Houston - downtown) and is in ICU. He has been diagnosed with an infection that has gotten into his bloodstream and has formed pockets of infection in his lungs. This has caused his breathing to be very difficult and his heart has been working double time for quite a while in an attempt to keep up. He is a very sick man. The doctors are treating the infection with an antibiotic and have intubated him to help his breathing. His lungs are not the problem but are the "innocent bystanders" (the doctor's words) suffering from the problem of the infection. The doctors do not know the source of the infection at this time and are not really looking for that yet. They want to see him turn around a little before they do other tests.
Here are some specific needs:
Malcolm's breathing
Malcolm's heart rate - his heart rate was 184 and the doctor said he had done the equivalent of a couple of marathons already and his heart needed a break.
Pray for the antibiotics to work quickly and that other body organs would not be affected
Pray for Andrea as she is in ICU with Malcolm as much as she can - Rosa and I have swapped and she is up with Andrea in ICU right now but Andrea could use some other ladies to give her spiritual support and encouragement.
Pray for the kids during this time - Darius is home with them tonight - specifically - we need to help provide getting Nokia to school and back. Morgan and Butter can come to the church with Makala and Darius when they are picked up for the One Hope Academy but will need cared for during the day.
If you can help - call me (Coach Joe) at 918 760 0089 or my wife (Rosa) at 918 231 5106 as we coordinate the help.
Thank you very much and may the Lord show His kindness and mercy to this dear brother.

YUMMY PIES for Junior High and High School Teams
"Let's Do This"
Ok everybody, It's time to have a huge fundraiser and have some fun doing it. Let's take pride in our team and pull together as a football family and do what we can to get some money raised for our wonderful NOAH Jaguars. We are going to start selling pies this week. The pies are nice big 10" pies and they are delicious! My husband and I have ordered these pies for the past several years from the Sand Springs wrestling team, mainly the pecan, cherry, apple, and chocolate cream and we have never been disappointed in the size of the pie, or the taste. The order forms will be handed out during the varsity, JV, and JH games this Monday and Thursday. So, please find Danae or myself (Sheila) to get your form and start getting your orders.
Some places you might consider asking:
Your church - They are probably getting ready to start planning their Thanksgiving dinner and why not order all of their pies from you.
Your neighbors
Local business's
Family and friends
A testimony from the Sand Springs Wrestling coach:
My wrestling team has been selling these pies for the past several years as a way of fundraising for our team. This is the only fundraising we have to do because it is so successful for us every year. We have people calling us already wanting to know when we are going to start selling the pies again and to make sure we call them to get their order in. I definitely recommend this fundraiser to any team or organization as a way of raising money.
Good Luck,
Andrew Flores
We will take order's from now until Monday, Nov. 1st and the pies will be delivered to the practice field one day on the week of Nov. 8th (you will be notified of the day in plenty of time to make arrangements to be there for pick up).
If you have any question's please call me at 246-3411, or 645-2053, or you can send me an e-mail at sheilarossi62@yahoo.com. I check my email several times a day.
Happy Selling,
Sheila Rossi

For all tryouts please arrive 30 minutes early for sign-in and to warm-up.
All prospects should dress in baseball attire (wear a protective cup) and bring your glove, bat and water bottle. Tryouts will commence on time as indicated below. You should start throwing the baseball now. Don’t wait until next week to start throwing the baseball. Your arm will be tested at various ranges during the tryouts. You don’t want to jeopardize an injury for failure to prepare now and cost your chance at a spot on the team.
All team rosters are open. If you played on a NOAH competitive team last year, you must tryout again this year.
The tryouts will last approximately 2 hours. Depending on the number of prospects, it could be longer.
Tryout Location: NOAH Practice Fields located at 83rd and S. 129th East Ave. (between 81st and 91st) at the New Creations Church. There are no restroom facilities at the practice fields. The nearest facility is at the QuikTrip at the corner of 81st and Garnett. Please take care of business prior to tryout.
Roster: Each team will be limited to 10 or 11 players. Please note that if we have enough players to form odd age teams like an 11 yr old and/or 13 yr old team, we will form teams accordingly. For the evaluation purposes, we are combining ages. Players must be homeschool unless grandfathered into the program.
Fees: Expect to pay anywhere from $200-300 plus $100-120 uniform cost.
2011 League: The last two years, all competitive teams have played at Indian Springs (131st and 145th east aver.). Each year, we evaluate which league is the best fit for our teams. There are 14-16 regular season games plus 4-5 weekend tournaments. Please note, there will be occasional tournament games played on Sunday at varying times during the day. Please consider this circumstance when you make your decision to try out for a competitive team.

FAQs
What level of play will NOAH teams compete? Historically, due to the number of players and our culture, NOAH has competed at the AA level. We are a homeschool program and our focus is to develop our “homeschool” talent with the intention of competing against like-skilled talent or better in hope of making us better players in preparation for the high school team. Ultimately, our goal is compete for league, state and national championships through youth to high school levels. If you play competitive baseball, expect to play 14-16 league games plus 16-20 tournament games throughout the season. The season starts in April and ends the last part of June. Indoor workouts start in February. Competitive team players are expected to make time and financial commitments to the team.
Will there be another tryout date if I can’t make this date? Maybe but not guaranteed, we are looking to field a competitive team. Therefore, if after the evaluations there are not 10-11 players with above average skill, we could have another tryout date in November or December. Of course the weather could play a part on our tryout date.
What if my son is not selected for the competitive team? Depending on his skill level, he could be placed on an “alternate” list in case there’s a spot that becomes available before the season starts. NOAH encourages all players to keep working on their skills and to play on the developmental team or tryout out for another competitive team. Life is full of failures and successes, just because they don’t make the NOAH team, inspire them to continue honing their skills. Historically, there has been developmental teams available for 12 and younger players. Developmental team signups will be January 2011. The last two years we had enough interest to form a 14U developmental team. Our first priority is field a competitive team. If there’s enough interest we will do whatever possible to have developmental teams. We have a good working relationship with Indian Springs, so we expect to place the developmental teams there. Developmental teams generally play around 20 games. The player fees are less due to fewer tournaments.
Who will coach the teams? I am in the process of evaluating and selecting a head coach for each team. I desire to have a head coach in place before the tryouts but due to the tryout process and number of teams involved, that determination may not take place until the tryouts or thereafter. The evaluators for the tryouts will be coaching candidates as well as members of the high school coaching staff. We are blessed to have dads with several years of coaching experience.

Pre Game Meals for the High School Team
PreGame Meal Instructions:
Please put all your food/drink items in a cooler (put your name on cooler) and bring to the drop off place (the place where Coach Joe designates that the team will be leaving from). We will then transport the ice chests to the game site and return your cooler to your son after the game.
Sandwiches (20 per family) - Please bring sandwiches fully made in labeled sandwich bags. Some players do not like condiments, so you may consider leaving a few plain. It is imperative that the sandwich bags be labeled for those players who may have food allergies.
Fruit (20 Pcs. per family) - Some fruit ideas are: bananas, grapes, apples, oranges. I realize it is difficult to buy a bag of apples/oranges that has 20 in the bag, so just cut them in half. A cluster of grapes in a sandwich bag works great.
Water (1/case per family)
I will be send email notices through my email address. So if you have a blocker on receiving emails, please add me to your contact list. I also ask that you simply reply to my email acknowledging that you did receive the notice. It is very difficult for me to have to call you to verify, so please make every effort to simply hit the ‘reply’ button to let me know. DO NOT reply to any of the coaching staff or administrative staff (ie. Danae Fayard).
Please add my email address to your contacts list, and if you have any concerns or questions, just let me know. THANK YOU for all your help and support.

Message from the NOAH Basketball Program
For those students who play football or another fall sport, it is expected that sport will remain your primary extra-curricular commitment until the end of the season. You are not expected to attend basketball practices until the completion of your fall sport. You do still need to register on-line so we have a count of incoming players. I would also encourage those not playing football to attend the NOAH football games and support your teammates. We play this Friday night at 7:30 against Stilwell at Broken Arrow North Intermediate High School.
Go Jags,
Chris Moody

Matthew Long Nominated for PLAYER OF THE WEEK by Tulsa World
Senior Linebacker, Matthew Long, is one of 8 Oklahoma football players selected as finalists for this week's player of the week.
The editors ask fans to help them select the Player of the week by casting votes at Tulsa World Sports Extra Polls.
A decision will be made Tuesday night.
Matthew is just one of several outstanding NOAH athletes who have been recognized recently by media outlets for excellence in their arenas.
Polls such as these also help the Tulsa World gauge readership. A high vote count may result in greater coverage of NOAH sports, and hence, more opportunities for all NOAH athletes.

Junior High and High School Families
Dear NOAH Football Families,
We have started off our season with a bang in Springfield and as we enjoy cheering on our jag teams we wanted to remind our jag fans of a few things. We had a few issues brought to our attention at the Springfield game that we need to address. We are asking our parents to help us with the task of keeping every one off of the football field. If you are not a part of the team or a support person for the team that is scheduled to play on the field then you should not be on the field at any time unless you are invited for a half time participation etc.
During the Springfield game I witnessed a game referee ask one of our coaches to have a group of teenagers move away from the field and then the referee himself asked another group of teenagers to move away from the football field. Please speak with your children so that they understand that they should not play near the field. Our referees, coaches and team support staff should not have to concern themselves with these type of issues. This should be our responsibility as parents to make that our children understand what is allowed and what is not.
Please do not let your children climb on any structures at the fields. At the Springfield game it was brought to my attention that children were climbing up the back of the bleachers. This is a huge safety issue and we don’t want to have a child injured when it could be so easily prevented. As we represent first Jesus Christ, second the NOAH organization and third our individual families we want to respect other organizations property and authority.
We have moved our junior high and junior varsity games to a new location this year. I hope you were able to read the announcement on the football blog. One of the drawbacks of the new field is the lack of space between the field and the fence that encloses the field area. There is only about a thirty foot area for our team to stand and for our spectators to access the bleachers. It will be imperative to help us keep our fans away from the football field so that we won’t have any accidents. There are several areas outside of the fenced football field that the children can throw a football and play.
Thank You,
Danae Fayard and the NOAH football leadership

Junior High
Dear Junior High Parents,
Uniform Care Instructions:
Last night the junior high players were given white game jerseys. The white and blue game jerseys should be washed in cold water and hung to air dry. DO NOT USE BLEACH OR PUT THEM IN AN AUTOMATIC CLOTHES DRYER. Sometimes on the white jersey there are black marks that remain after washing. This is from the facemask and pads leaving marks when they tackle each other. This usually can be removed by scraping your fingernail across the fabric. (The truth is they like to have the marks as a badge of honor lol Boys!)
Practice pants are also cold water wash with no bleach and air dry. Please remove pads from the pants before washing. The pads can be hand washed and then can be left to air dry. They can also be wiped down with clorox wipes.
The girdles will also last much longer if they are not dried in an automatic clothes dryer.
Some of the jerseys may be long for the junior high players. If the white game jerseys are too long and can't be tucked in. The jersey can be hemmed. The final hem needs to sit about mid thigh in order to stay tucked in. The jerseys will hopefully be used in the future so it would be great if you can make it work without cutting the jerseys. Do not let your sons cut the jerseys themselves. If you have any questions please feel free to ask Kathy Gogo or myself.
Thanks so much,
Danae Fayard

We have added a game to our schedule Friday, September 3 at Springfield, Mo. (Springfield Christian Chargers) Directions will be coming down the blog soon. Please be watching for that.
7th Grade plays @ 4:30
8th Grade plays @ 5:30
It is approximately a 3 hour drive. For those who would like to caravan, we will leave the practice field at 12 o’clock.
Please make sure your player is fed a good lunch. We will eat after the games.
If your player needs a ride OR if you are able to take an additional player (if needed), please let me know.
Many of our families will be staying to watch the varsity game after the junior high. We will be making a pizza order. Pizza Hut is offering 1 topping, large (8 slices) for $7/per pizza. We have to give Pizza Hut two days notice, and they will deliver to us after our games. So, if you would like to order pizza, please let me know by Tuesday evening (end of practice) how many/type of pizza you want. I will have a pizza list at junior high practices. We will collect the money at the game.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

High School Pre-Game Meals
Pre-Game Meal Instructions
JV/Varsity Games
Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Shelley Roberts - I will be coordinating the pre-game meals for JV/Varsity. Coach Blankenship and Coach Gastelum like to provide the players with a quick meal before each game. It usually consist of sandwiches, fruit, and bottled water. There have been times where families have provided chips, cheese, and other healthy snacks.
We request that each family sign up for two sandwich slots, two fruit slots, and one water slot.
Please put all your food/drink items in a cooler (put your name on cooler) and bring to the drop off place (the place where Coach Joe designates that the team will be leaving from). We will then transport the ice chests to the game site and return your cooler to your son after the game.
Please add my email address to your contacts list, and if you have any concerns or questions, just let me know. THANK YOU for all your help and support.

PS: If you have not yet signed-up to help with the meals; you can contact me, and I will let you know what dates still need to be filled, otherwise I will insert your family’s name where needed. At this point, all sandwich slots are filled, so I would need remaining family to sign up for two fruit and two water slots.

Flag Football Opportunities
President Fred Sabatini released this statement to the families interested in Flag football. If any tackle football players our their family members can help, please let Fred know.
We at NOAH have been blessed with great leaders in our many years of providing homeschool athletic programs to the Northeast Oklahoma community. We are in urgent need of leadership, in order to continue the flag football program. We appreciate the fine leadership of our outgoing Flag Football Athletic Director, Andrew Moss. He is not able to continue in this capacity and so we turn to you to do your part to help us develop the young athletes.
We will have a meeting at the NOAH Practice facility (86th St. & 129th E. Ave) sometime next week. We will need to hear from you prior to that meeting so we know what needs still remain.
Our questions:
1. How many players do you have playing flag football this year?_____
2. Can you serve as a
a. Coach?_______
b. Team Coordinator?______
c Treasurer?______
d. Athletic Director?_______
3. Do you know any other leaders you can recommend? Who?_____
4. What experience have you have with NOAH Sports or other youth athletic programs?________
Please reply to this email this week so we can better prepare for the upcoming season.
With People,
Fred Sabatini
NOAH President

Jaguar Picnic~
Come and join us for the Blue/White scrimmage Saturday morning at the practice field. Players should be ready for practice at 8am. The scrimmage will start at 9am. After the scrimmage we will move to Haikey Park.
Haikey Park address is 11327 S. Garnett Ave. Broken Arrow. From the practice field you will turn right onto 129th then right on 81st. Next you will turn left onto Garnett Ave. When you head south on Garnett, you drive into the park area. The Pavilion is the first turn on the right, it is a tri-pavilion, it has the restrooms and a playground next to it. There are plenty of shady trees and parking. The park also has frisbee golf for those who may be interested.
We will have grilled hot dogs and hamburgers with chips and drinks. We will charge only enough to cover the cost of the food. If you would like to help with the food preparation/serving you can contact Shelley Roberts (638-8866) or Sheila Rossi. Please bring small bills to pay for your meal.
Coach Joe is requesting each player and their family to attend for player recognition. Coach will be introducing each player and his family. This is great opportunity for fellowship and to become better acquainted with our NOAH football families.
Don't forget your chairs so you can relax while you watch the scrimmage. We may need them at the park also.
Janet Bergquist will have the home game volunteer spreadsheet available for those who still need to sign up for their volunteer positions.
If you have any questions just let me know.
