Fundraiser

One Last Fundraiser - Amish Bakery Prodcuts

Dear Parents,

We are doing one last fundraiser for the football program before the year is up. I sent a packet home on Monday with your athlete, if you have not seen it please ask him where it is. We are selling the Amish Bakery products up until the football banquet. I attached a letter to the packet giving you dates and times for taking orders, turning your orders in, and picking up your orders. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 918-645-2053, or you can email me at sheilarossi62@yahoo.com . Let's try hard to make this last fundraiser for the year a big one. I think we can do great with it if everyone will do their part in trying to sell as much as possible before the deadline.

Be Blessed,
Sheila Rossi

FOOTBALL SEASON

This is the last week of football season. I want to encourage everyone to plan on coming out Friday night for the final game of the season. There are quite a few seniors playing in their last game and it is an opportunity for the team to build on their exciting win last week over Union JV (a team that several coaches indicated would probably make the 6A playoffs).

Parents or guardians are encouraged to supervise their children as always BUT children will be allowed to play appropriately and NOT restricted to the stands. I have been going to football games for nearly 50 years and at every level (from junior high to college) children enjoy throwing the football around and playing together around the stadium while the game is going on. That is a great tradition that we won't stop. Children who attend games should have a parent or someone supervising them. It is their responsibility to make sure they participate in safe activities. If the NOAH security sees someone doing something dangerous or inappropriate, they will be sent to their parents or adult supervisor. If they refuse then they will be reported to the proper authorities to ensure their safety.

So - EVERYONE pass the word about the game - invite others and come out Friday night and celebrate the season with your NOAH JAGUAR FOOTBALL TEAM. Let's have our best crowd ever!

Great win - tremendous TEAM effort. May the Lord use playing as a TEAM to help all of you to live lives that are not consumed with yourselves but think first of God and others God puts around you so that you love your neighbor as yourself.

Very Important Message From The NOAH Board

Please make every effort to attend.  This is a very important issue that we need your input on.

Danae

NOAH Parents,

I hope the 2011-12 school year is going well for everyone. Whether you are wrapping up, in the middle of, or preparing for your season We pray that this season is the most God glorifying NOAH season ever!

The NOAH Board would like to invite any parents interested to attend this months board meeting which will be held on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:30pm at East Bible Chapel located at 1215 South 135th East Avenue.

The topic the NOAH board requests your input on is.....DEFINING NOAH ELIGIBILITY.

With the landscape of homeschooling broadening all around us, it is imperative that we prayerfully set the course for the near future of NOAH athletics regarding some foundational questions. As players, parents, coaches, Athletic Directors and Board Members we are all being ask on an increasing basis "Who can play for NOAH?", "How do we define Homeschooling?" "Who does NOAH serve?" even........"What is the purpose of NOAH?"

Homeschool organizations across the country are working through the same issues. Decisions on how to define homeschooling for eligibility purposes are varied, ranging from a simple question being ask of each family such as "Do you homeschool 51% of the time?" to a more detailed look at how, when and where a family educates are being used to determine eligibility. As you all know there are many more homeschooling options today for a family to consider then when NOAH was formed a dozen years ago. We all have kids involved in or families coming to us with questions regarding NOAH eligibility of student athletes that are being educated from home via online courses in both public, private and charter programs, some part time others full time. The same is to be said regarding Tutorial Centers and Co-Ops. The trend around us seems to be only broadening so the need for us to set the course is at a all time high.

If you are interested in attending, please mark your calendars, make arrangements and come with your thoughts ready to be expressed on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:30pm at East Bible Chapel located on 1215 South 135th East Avenue. The Board greatly values and needs your input, guidance and prayers!

High School Team

NOAH Families:  I want to thank you for your participation and support with our pre-game meals.  As mentioned in our pre-season email, our roster is significantly smaller than in previous years, and we need every family’s participation with this project.    Several months ago, we passed around a sign-up sheet and gave each family the opportunity to pick their preferred dates to volunteer.  Most of you did this, and this was a tremendous help with our planning, but for those of you who did not do the pregame signup we have to plug your name in where we have the need.

Having said that, we need to bring a few points to your attention that are hindering this project:

• We cannot accommodate every family’s schedule.  This is your responsibility to know your sign-up dates.  Please take a moment and call Sharon Craig at 918-630-7366 to find out your dates and/or to sign-up.

• Weekly emails are sent to those who have signed-up with the request for a reply.  When you do not reply, we are put in the position to have to call you.  Neither of us have the extra time to make several phone calls, nor do we want to.

• Every week we have someone who has forgotten.   When you forget, we have 15 players who did not get to eat.  I can’t stress enough the importance of having this meal before a game.

• Your food needs to be dropped off at the designated place of departure.   Unfortunately, bringing it later will not work.  Again, this leaves players without a meal.  They can’t eat right before a game.  So it is imperative that you have the food at the designated departure site.

• If you find yourself in a situation where you cannot make the sandwiches – remember, your player knows how to make them and bag fruit.

• While many of us volunteer in other capacities within NOAH, this project is separate from those other areas.  Again, every family needs to provide sandwiches, fruit, and water two separate times during the season.   No-one is exempt from helping with this project.

Again, we thank you for your support.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

Message from Coach Joe for the high school team

All VARSITY AND JV PLAYERS ARE TO BE AT SPRINGS OF GRACE BY 3:00 PM on Monday. We will watch film of our game versus Desoto and also our next opponent Heritage Hall. We will give a scouting report and then the JV players will leave around 5:15 to head over for Metro JV Game which starts @ 6:30. All Varsity players will finish conditioning and then should go (unless you get permission not to) and help the JV Players. We will wear white Game jerseys for JV.
I know it is an early start and there may be some who cannot make it because of school or other commitments. Let me know if you are going to be late - otherwise you will run for missing.
Players that get this message should pass it on to all of their teammates via text to make sure everyone is there and ready to go.

I know all of you, like me, are disappointed with Friday night. Desoto is a very good football team and we needed to play a near perfect game to defeat them. My disappointment is that we didn't play even an average game for us against them. We had way too many mistakes in all phases of the game. That's my fault as your coach and I intend to help us get it corrected. I love you guys and am excited to be your coach.
See you Monday.
