NOAH Jaguars in spring search for Thornton replacement

A challenge for the home-school Jaguars will be to replace tailback Eric Thornton, who rushed for more than 3,000 yards over the past two seasons.

"Eric was one of the best backs in the state, so that will be a challenge, but we've got four good candidates," NOAH coach Joe Blankenship said. "We're going to take the TU approach - we have a bevy of backs,

"Jeremy Clark is a sophomore who is a big power back. Another sophomore, DeQuan Coronado, is a little raw but he could be really, really good. He's the whole package. He's even faster than Eric. We're also going to use Justus McGuire and Marquae Cato."

NOAH's offense will be led by returning quarterback Joe Sabatini, who passed for 2,134 yards and 23 touchdowns last year. The Jaguars started spring practice last week without Sabatini, who was playing for NOAH's baseball team. Monday was Sabatini's first day of spring practice.

"We're real excited to have Joe back with us today," Blankenship said.

Among the players who impressed Blankenship during the first week of spring practice were lineman Sawyer Hulslander, lineman Jon Dunbar, linebacker Jared Harbin, wide receiver-linebacker Samuel Blankenship and linebacker Darius Andrews.

"Hulslander has been a real force on the defensive side of the ball, and we're looking to move him to center from tight end on offense," Joe Blankenship said.

Sapulpa Camp

I made a mistake on the Sapulpa camp fees.
The fee will be $20 dollars instead of $ 25.

Skills camp set for Thursday and Friday. 4-5:30 at the practice field.
Helmets, t-shirts, shorts, and cleats. We will add shoulder pads and girdles next week.

Just a reminder: Sapulpa and TU camps coming up at the beginning of June.
Sapulpa camp will cost $25 and each player will pay $100 toward their TU camp cost.
Please have fees paid up to date by TU camp.

I will be at the practice field on Thursday to collect paperwork and fees.

High School Team Equipment Check Out

Equipment check out will be held today at 6pm at the practice field on 129th E. Ave which is between 81st and 91st on the west side of 129th.
We will not have any practices today only equipment check out.
The team should meet at the white shed behind the church (we call it the old shed).
Do not park near the church or drive around to the shed.  You can park in the two rows closet to the road or on the north side of the practice field.

If you have not made any fee payments or if you are not up to date on your payments you will need to contact me before we can issue your equipment.

If you have not turned in your registration paperwork, you must do that before we can issue you any equipment.  The paperwork requires parents signature so at least one will need to be with you to complete their portion of the forms.  If you would like to print your copies and bring them filled out to the check out. You may call me today and I will forward them to you.

If you have any questions please give me a call.  I will be out of town for the day today but will have all of my files with me so that I can  help you.
